Alessi is not only committed to a design approach but looks to stretch its own manufacturing techniques whenever possible.
The Port bowl is a clear example of innovative techniques with the designer obsessed with the effects of crumpled edges. This effect had never been used before in homewares. Whist proving challenging, Alessi certainly mastered it in the end.
The middle of the bowl consists of a flat area making it safe transport or an appealing presentation of the desired objects, while the crinkled appearance of the frame creates optical alternation and movement.
